In this video, we will work on one of the most important aspects of being a consistent pitcher… BALANCE. Balance is extremely important in creating a consistent release point. Balance directly affects a pitcher’s command and control as it allows for consistent timing and the ability to repeat the same motion consistently. This drill can be performed on its own or in a throwing program as the pitcher is preparing to throw in a game. Stay focused on gathering as the leg lifts and being as consistent as possible in our throwing motion.

As the front leg lifts, gather andd pause to feel balanced
On the initial movement down, break the hands
As the front foot lands, the arm shuldbe in position to throw
Once the ball is released, land balanced and under control
